The Fyre BoXXX has 2 types of audio outputs Analog and Digital. The digital output of the set-top-box offers the highest quality of audio signal and is recommended if your television is capable of that type of connection. (the below output types are listed from best to good)

Digital output:
HDMI is recommended for best audio & video quality
SPDIF is an optical audio connection

Analog output:
Composite connection also known as RCA or red, white, yellow

Note: Only the Composite and HDMI connections carry both audio and video signal, should you use the S-video or component connections, you will need to use either the red and white cables from the composite cables or the fiber optic audio connection to transmit an audio signal.

HDMI Connection: Transfers both audio and video in one cable in full high definition and surround sound. This is the best choice in regards to quality and cable clutter.

Fiber Optic Connection (cable not included in FyreTV equipment): The flat, square connector that opens inward to the Fyre BoXXX is known as fiber optic. The connection point on the Fyre BoXXX has a hinged door that pushes in when the fiber optic cable is connected. When you plug the fiber optic cable into the STB you will usually notice a bright red light coming from the inside of the fiber optic cable. Fiber optic is an all digital connection. There is no left or right channel; just one cable that can pass-through mono, stereo, and surround sound (5.1, 6.1, 7.1 and beyond).

Composite Connection: Composite (RCA or red, white, yellow) is the one of oldest and lowest quality connections in regards to A/V TV connections. You will simply need to connect the red, white, and yellow cables on the Fyre BoXXX to a set of composite inputs (again, usually red, white and yellow) on the front or back of the TV to connect the Fyre BoXXX.
