Below are the recommended internet networking configuration options for your Fyre Boxxx. On the FyreTV Forum  much more information can be found regarding networking issues. The major networking issues had by most users regarding the modem > router > set-top-box configuration have been related to a firewall issue which is easily resolved in 5 minutes with FyreTV Support.

Before troubleshooting you need to determine if you have Cable, DSL or Fiber Optic internet service:

The majority of issues plaguing the FyreTV customer stem from the customer’s network not recognizing the Fyre Boxxx when it is added to their network on "Configuration 1 & 2". The Fyre Boxxx is not intelligent enough to reconfigure itself to a network connection that is configured to another device, (ie you take the Ethernet cable from your computer and plug into the Fyre Boxxx without executing a power cycle).

The User Interface is cached on the machine; just because you can view the User Interface doesn’t mean that you can view streaming content. If you are receiving one of the following error messages, please try the steps below before contacting customer support.

Issues:

Error 130 "Servers Unreachable. Please check your network configuration"
Error 131 "Servers Unreachable. Please check your network configuration"
Error 134 "Servers Unreachable. Please check your network configuration"
Error 136 "Servers Unreachable. Please check your network configuration"
Error 137 "Servers Unreachable. Please check your network configuration"

BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE LASTEST FIRMWARE UPDATES FOR YOUR ROUTER. NONE OF THE STEPS BELOW WILL CORRECT YOUR ISSUE IF YOU HAVE NOT UPDATED YOUR ROUTER’S FIRMWARE.  (see router manufacturer's website for specific instructions)

“Configuration 1 & 2” Network Power Cycle Troubleshooting

a) Obtaining an IP address - Cable

If you are not receiving an IP address, receiving a 169.xxx.xxx.xx address or one of the above error messages then your Fyre Boxxx is not configuring itself properly. Proceed to the "ENTER Pin" screen on the User Interface of the Fyre Boxxx > go to the "network settings" menu > leave the "Automatic" (DHCP) checked > hit apply. If this option corrects the issue you will receive a "DCHP configuration has been set successfully" message. If this does not work proceed to the following steps.

1) Remove the power from the Cable modem and or the router if present and leave everything unplugged for 5 seconds

2) Remove the Ethernet cable and power cord from the back of the Fyre Boxxx

3) If router is present, power on the router, if no router is present reconnect the Ethernet cable to the Fyre Boxxx and power on the Fyre Boxxx

4) Power on the Cable modem and allow it to reconfigure itself

5) If the Fyre Boxxx does not have an Ethernet cable connected to it, please do it now and power it on, proceed to the "ENTER Pin" screen on the User Interface of the Fyre Boxxx > go to the "network settings" menu > leave the "Automatic" (DHCP) checked > hit apply. If this option corrects the issue you will receive a "DCHP configuration has been set successfully" message. If this does not resolve your connection issue please contact customer support (contact methods below).

b) Reconfiguring Your Network Settings – DSL

If you are not receiving an IP address, receiving a 169.xxx.xxx.xx address or one of the above error messages then your Fyre Boxxx is not configuring itself properly. Proceed to the "ENTER Pin" screen on the User Interface of the Fyre Boxxx > go to the "network settings" menu > leave the "Automatic" (DHCP) checked > hit apply. If this option corrects the issue you will receive a "DCHP configuration has been set successfully" message. If this does not work proceed to the following steps.

1) Remove the power from the DSL and or the router if present and leave everything unplugged for 5 seconds

2) Remove the Ethernet cable and power cord from the back of the FyreTV Boxxx

3) Plug in the modem and allow it to reconfigure itself (wait for modem to reconfigure before proceeding to step 4 if necessary)

4) Plug in the router if present and allow it to reconfigure itself

5) Plug the Ethernet cable into the back of the FyreTV Boxxx

6) Plug the power cord into the back of the FyreTV Boxxx, wait 5 seconds and turn on the FyreTV Boxxx

7) Proceed to the "ENTER Pin" screen on the User Interface of the Fyre Boxxx > go to the "network settings" menu > leave the "Automatic" (DHCP) checked > hit apply. If this option corrects the issue you will receive a "DCHP configuration has been set successfully" message. If this does not resolve your connection issue please contact customer support (contact methods below).
